re:Work records what apps, documents, and websites you use as you work, then rolls it into a timeline of your day. There is nothing to start, stop, or fill in. It lives in your menu bar, and everything it records stays on your Mac.

What it reads
All local. Never your screen.
re:Work keeps a record of your day from the names of things, not their contents. It needs one permission, Accessibility, and uses it to read the title of whatever window is in front.
What it reads
The frontmost app’s name, its window title, the document it has open, and in a browser, the active tab’s address. Plus when you started and stopped.
What it never touches
No screenshots, no screen recording, no keystrokes, no page or document contents. Only names, titles, and addresses.
What it skips
Apps you add under Privacy are not recorded or counted from the moment you add them. Recognized private windows in Chrome and Firefox keep only the app and the time.
Open History and the day reads top to bottom, morning to night. Each card is a stretch of one piece of work: the pull request, the doc, the channel. Idle time and gaps in recording are marked quietly, so the record stays honest without you tending it.

Stretches, not a stopwatch
A stretch is a continuous run of one stream’s work. An hour with nothing recorded ends it, so a day can hold several.
What you were doing
Every block gets a category for what the tool is for, and a work type for what you were doing with it: coding, writing, reading, a meeting.
Written, not generated
The summary of each day is built by rules from what was recorded. There is no language model behind it, and it reads the same way every time.
11:40AM
How it sorts your work
Blocks become work items. Work items become streams.
Most trackers stop at apps and minutes. re:Work follows the thing you were working on across apps and across days, so the pull request you read in the browser, the channel where you discussed it, and the files you edited end up in one stream.
Blocks
A continuous stretch of focus on one context: an app and its tab, a channel, a file. The atomic record, captured without you.

Work items
A stable identity for the thing itself, from its address or path: a pull request, a document, an issue, a channel. One row across every day it appears.

Streams
An ongoing effort that groups work items across days, named by code from what they share. You can rename, merge, or split any of them, and inference never undoes it.

Work
Every stream, and where its time went.
WORK lays out the last two weeks at a glance: how much was recorded and how much of it belongs to a stream, what kind of work it was, which tools it happened in, and each stream with the days it moved.

Unbroken runs
None in this period
One app or website without a switch, at least 15m. A pause over 90s ends a run.
Focus sessions
None in this period
At least 15m with 75% of active time on one project, or on one app or website when no project owns it. Brief switches and pauses up to 3m are tolerated.

You
A short, honest article about how you work.
After a few weeks, YOU describes your focus, your meetings, your tools, and what is changing. Every sentence carries its evidence, and a claim only says “you tend to” once it has held for four separate weeks.
YOU
How you work
A living profile built from finalized local observations through Sep 5, 2026.
In the last two weeks, you had 52h 40m to yourself and used 36h 20m of it in recorded activity. Creating was your largest use of active free time: 2h 20m a day recently and 2h 30m a day in a typical workweek. Your most reliable focus forms from 8:30 AM–11:00 AM.
Focus
Your most reliable focus window is 8:30 AM–11:00 AM. Sustained, single-workstream focus forms there more consistently than in equal-length windows elsewhere in the day. Last two weeks
In the last two weeks, that was less true: the window averaged 35m of sustained focus a day, against 30m in other equal-length windows.
•
Your meeting-free work usually runs across about 3 workstreams a day, and your longest single-workstream stretch is usually around 2h 5m.
Collaboration and meetings
Meetings repeatedly land inside your reliable focus window and divide its sustained work.
•
With Priya Shah: 9 meetings across 6 weeks; the following free period averaged 1h 18m.
•
Design critique: 7 meetings across 5 weeks; split sustained work 5 times.
•
Other apps were active during 4 of 6 Zoom meetings.
Tools and flow
You repeatedly move from browser-based reading or research into sustained creating work. The reverse sequence happens less often.
•
The research-to-creation sequence appeared 14 times, compared with 4 reverse sequences.
•
Between meetings, browser stays averaged 3m and 11 switches per active hour; other free periods averaged 8m and 6 switches.
What is changing
Your meeting-free time fell 4h 30m, from 30h 10m during Jul 20–Aug 2 to 25h 40m during Aug 3–16.
Jul 20–Aug 2Aug 3–16
•
The weekly pattern moved from 30h 10m to 25h 40m across those periods.

Next week, with room to think.
With your calendar connected, Plan reads next week against the times you actually focus, then proposes focus holds and suggests which one-on-ones to move. You review each one. re:Work adds only the attendee-free holds you approve; it never moves a meeting or invites anyone.

What it will not do
A mirror, not a judge.
No scores, no streaks
No grades or productivity verdicts anywhere. A day you did not use your Mac is a gap in the data, not a failure.
Your word wins
Names, merges, labels, and goals are yours. Inference never edits something you set, and a rename is permanent.
Claims are earned
A statement about how you work needs evidence behind it, and every one can show that evidence.
No language model
Summaries, stream names, and the YOU article are written by deterministic code from what was stored. Nothing leaves your Mac to be interpreted.
Goals only if you set them
You can set one deep-work target and one meeting cap. re:Work reports against them in plain counts, and invents none of its own.
Quiet by default
A daily recap and focus nudges are available and both start off. It never tells you that you are being interrupted.
